Opening Hours and Contact Details
Normal Opening Hours
The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Please note that on some Thursdays we do not open until 10am, due to staff training.
Our staff will be pleased to answer your phone call from 8.30am until 4.30pm.
If you wish to make a provisional booking for a marriage at the Register Office please telephone after 10am and ask for the Marriage Officer. Kindly note that we will not be able to accept any bookings before this time, and that we cannot accept a booking for more than a year ahead of your chosen date of marriage.
Need a certificate in a hurry? We can take your order details for a copy Birth, Death or Marriage certificate over the telephone together with your credit or debit card details (there is a small handling fee per transaction for using your card and unfortunately we are unable to accept a card payment for a transaction for less than £5). The certificate can then be posted to you, or you can come into the office to collect it. Please note that we can only supply certificates for events registered within the Bexley District: if the birth, death or marriage occured outside this district then you must apply to the relevant register office for copies. This service cannot be used to register a birth or a death or give a notice of marriage.
We accept payment for marriage bookings and certificates by cash, cheque or
credit/debit card. All cheques must be made payable to 'London Borough of
Bexley'.
