Resources plus Link-Up
Resources plus operates an outreach programme 'Link-up' to provide local
people with access to employment support in their local area. Resources have
established themselves as an effective job broking team with an excellent record
of helping people move into new jobs and training.
At Link Up we know looking for work can be difficult. Trying to find a new
job, updating your skills, coping with rejection and still marketing yourself
positively can be hard on self-esteem for any job seeker. For people who are
also overcoming other barriers such as disability or long-term illness, it can
be an uphill struggle. Resources plus aims to remove these barriers by working
together with over 30 local organisations to create a support network for vulnerable
jobseekers.
Link Up was formed to help people to access services with ease, to make it
simple to find and refer clients to each other with confidence and in the knowledge
that the needs will be met. By making appointments for clients to meet named
persons, we hope to reduce the stress of referral and create an atmosphere where
clients feel fully supported throughout the referral procedure.
Resources recognises that each individuals needs are different and Link up
will identify your specific support package. For example a women returnee may
require advice on how to find relevant childcare, and individual without a recent
work history may need to develop this. Disabled jobseekers or individuals with
long-term illnesses will have access to a specialist advisor. Whatever the need
Link Up will find an individual solution to meet the individual requirements.
