Short Courses for Older Drivers
- Short courses for drivers aged 60 and over designed to help you continue driving for longer with the minimum amount of stress.
- The courses will build on your experience of driving and will give you driving tips, techniques and advice, including driver vision screening (if needed).
- There is no charge for the courses which take place at Bexley Council's Road Safety Centre, Baugh Road, Foots Cray, Sidcup.
The Driving Advantage are short courses for drivers aged 60 and over. They aim to help you continue driving into older age with the minimum amount of difficulty and stress.
They will help you think about, and get more from, your driving.
The courses will cover:
- Health, fitness and driving
- Performance
- Vision and visibility
- Driving and the mature driver
- Planning for the future
The courses will build on your experience and you will be encouraged to take part in discussions about driving issues.
Why should you attend?
The courses are designed to help you continue driving for longer and more safely, especially in today's increasing traffic conditions.
They will raise your awareness of issues affecting ageing and how they can influence your driving.
Who should attend?
Experienced drivers, drivers recovering from illness or injury, drivers on medical advice, and drivers having had a near-miss or who are just lacking in confidence or judgement.
What does it cost?
There is no cost for the courses, apart from giving up one morning of your time. Refreshments are provided.
Where does it take place?
The courses take place in Bexley Council's Road Safety Centre, Baugh Road, Foots Cray, Sidcup (near the David Lloyd Leisure Club). The Centre has parking, and facilities for disabled people.
When are the next Driving Advantage courses?
There are currently no planned courses, but we are accepting registrations of interest via the form below and will let you know when some dates have been arranged.
