Can we help you?

Help is available for people with mental health problems, their families and carers. We help people with mental health problems such as:

  • severe and ongoing mental illness
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • phobias
  • eating disorders

We also provide information and guidance about other organisations which may be able to help, such as External LinkMIND and External LinkRethink.

It offers information on, and links to employment, day services, education, training and leisure opportunities in the area and the volunteers support project. People using mental health services have the same needs for these opportunities as the wider community but do not always know that is available.

Who are we?

We are a team of professionals and support staff offering a range of skills and different ways to help. The team includes:

  • consultant psychiatrists
  • community psychiatric nurses (CPNs)
  • psychiatric social workers
  • clinical psychologists
  • occupational therapists
  • a team administrator and secretaries

How do we work?

Oxleas NHS TrustMental Health services in Bexley are one of the first fully integrated Mental Health Services in the country. They are run by External LinkOxleas NHS Trust.

Your first contact with us will normally be via your local GP. First, we offer an assessment to explore with you the exact nature of your problem. If the assessment shows that we are the best people to work with you, we will put together a care plan which is regularly reviewed. If you care for someone with mental health problems, you are entitled to a separate carers assessment.

If necessary, we can refer you to a more specialist part of the mental health service. We can also put you in touch with other agencies which may be better suited to your needs.
