Carriageway surfacing works was finished between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury Lane Roundabout this month. The last 50m of carriageway in front of London House on the north side was surfaced. The carriageway between Howbury Lane Roundabout and Kennet Road is finished. Most of the footpaths have also been surfaced to binder course along these sections to permit pedestrian use. The footpath in front of London House going around to Howbury Lane will be blacked this month. The majority of the central reserves have been completed from Perry Street Roundabout to Kennet Road Roundabout. The only remaining sections that need preparation are located at London House and outside Bookers. These sections were used as cross over points during the recent night shift work on Howbury Lane.

Traffic is running on one lane in both directions between Perry Street and Kennet Road to allow remaining road works to continue.

The following footpaths are closed to allow the next sections of road and footpaths to be prepared for the surfacing visit this month: The north footpath between Kennet road roundabout to Crayford Way and the footpath between London House and Howbury Lane north side.

Kennet Road to Crayford Way north carriageway will be finished this month. Once this section is surfaced the traffic will be swapped onto it releasing the south section of new road works between Mayplace Avenue and Crayford Way.

The next Crayford Way phase will be finished this month. Traffic will be switched over to allow access into By-way 103 in front of the Jolly Farmer Public House. This will release the final section of Crayford Way Roundabout.

Laying the Anti-skid surfaceThe south side from Crayford Way to the final tie near the Railway Bridge over the new River Cray bridge was surfaced this month and traffic is currently running on it. Once the next Crayford Way phase is finished all the traffic will be switched onto the new south carriageway over the new bridge which will release the final section of road between Crayford Way and the final tie in before the Railway Bridge over the existing river bridge on the north.

There is no right turn out of Mayplace Avenue to allow for the construction works in the area to continue.

Howbury Lane - A traffic diversion remains in place to allow roadworks to continue this month. The traffic will be diverted up around Perry Street Roundabout to access Howbury Lane when coming from Dartford.

The Kennet Road roundabout has opened and greatly reduced the diversion that had been necessary up to the Perry Street roundabout for the past few months.

TFL are continuing this month with the installation of the new traffic light systems throughout the job.

The pedestrian guardrail and sign post subcontractors are continuing this month.

The Anti Skid subcontractor has started this month on Perry Street Roundabout and the Pedestrian Crossing at Lock and Store.

Carriageway surfacing works will be finished between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury Lane Roundabout this month. The last 50m of carriageway in front of London House on the north side will be surfaced. The carriageway between Howbury Lane Roundabout and Kennet Road will also be finished. Footpaths have also been surfaced to binder course along these sections to permit pedestrian use.

Traffic will be running on the outside lanes of carriageway between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury Lane to allow the central reserve to be prepared for surfacing. This will be surfaced to binder this month. Traffic between Howbury Lane and Kennet Road will remain on the north carriageway until the end of the next blacktop visit.

The next Crayford Way roundabout phase will be finished this month. BP House to the Private road north has been surfaced this month.

The following footpaths are closed to allow the next sections of road and footpaths to be prepared for the surfacing visit this month: The south footpath between the pedestrian crossing at Optima Park to Mayplace Avenue and the footpath between London House and Howbury Lane north side.

Waterproofing the River Cray bridgeFootpath construction on the south side between Kennet road and Mayplace Avenue will be surfaced this month. There is no right turn out of Mayplace Avenue to allow for this construction. Pedestrians must cross the road in front of BP House and use the north footpath only. This footpath will be closed after the next surfacing visit and pedestrians will need to use the south footpath.

The next phase of surfacing is programmed to start on 24th March 2007. The following sections of road are programmed to be surfaced during this visit – Kennet Road to Mayplace Avenue south road and footpath, Crayford Way roundabout, the Central Reserve between Perry Street and Howbury Lane, the remaining section of road in front of London House, Crayford Way roundabout to the railway bridge and Howbury Lane roundabout.

Howbury Lane - A traffic diversion remains in place to allow roadworks to continue this month. The traffic will be diverted up around Perry Street Roundabout to access Howbury Lane. The westbound entrance into Howbury Lane from the roundabout will be closed.

Waterproofing the River Cray bridgeThe bridge over the River Cray has been waterproofed this month and will be surfaced. The brickwork on the new parapet wall on the north footpath over the bridge is starting this month. Pedestrians are now being diverted over a temporary footpath on the north side of the bridge.

TFL are continuing with the installation of the new traffic light systems throughout the job.

The pedestrian guardrail subcontractor is continuing with works including Perry Street Roundabout and the Central Reserve.

The subcontractor installing of the road signs on site is continuing works along the length of the scheme.

Some advanced landscaping works will be carried out on Perry Street roundabout and from there down to footpath 29 on the south side. Fencing will also be going up in this area.

The carriageway between Howbury Lane roundabout and Kennet Road will also be finished. Footpaths have also been surfaced to binder course along these sections to permit pedestrian use.

Traffic will be running on the outside lanes of carriageway between Perry Street roundabout and Howbury Lane to allow the central reserve to be prepared for surfacing. Traffic between Howbury Lane and Kennet Road will remain on the north carriageway.

The second phase of the Crayford Way roundabout and from BP House to the Private road north side will be surfaced this month.

The following footpaths are closed to allow the next sections of road and footpaths to be prepared for the next surfacing visit: The south footpath between the pedestrian crossing at Optima Park to Mayplace Avenue.

River Cray bridge progressFootpath construction on the south side between Kennet road and Mayplace Avenue is continuing this month. There is no right turn out of Mayplace Avenue to allow for this construction. Pedestrians must cross the road in front of BP House and use the north footpath only.

The next phase of surfacing is programmed to start early March 2007. The following sections of road are programmed to be surfaced during that visit - Kennet Road to Mayplace Avenue south side and footpath, and the third part of the Crayford Way roundabout.

Howbury Lane - A traffic diversion remains in place to allow roadworks to continue this month. The westbound entrance into Howbury Lane from the roundabout will remain closed. The traffic will be diverted up around Perry Street roundabout to access Howbury Lane.

The new traffic splitter island on Perry Street roundabout at Perry Street has been constructed but additional work in this area will be required. This additional work will require a temporary weekend road closure to be put in place diverting local traffic down Holmsdale Grove. HGV traffic will be diverted away from the area. Various footpath works are ongoing in the Perry Street area.

The second phase of the bridge over the River Cray is continuing this month. The new bridge deck has been concreted. Work on the new parapet wall on the north footpath over the bridge are continuing this month. The existing footpaths over the bridge have been closed to allow these works to continue. Pedestrians are now being diverted over the new section of the bridge on the south side.

TFL have started on site with the installation of the new traffic light systems throughout the job.

The pedestrian guardrails have started to be installed, firstly on Perry Street roundabout.

The installation of the road signs will start this month at Perry Street roundabout.

Carriageway surfacing works are finished on the south carriageway between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury Lane Roundabout and on the north carriageway between Howbury Lane Roundabout and Kennet Road. Footpaths have also been surfaced to binder course (the layer below the final surface layer) along these sections to permit pedestrian use. Traffic is now running on the new sections of road.

The carriageway on the north side between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury has been laid to binder course apart from the entrances to the businesses. The carriageway south side between Howbury Lane and Kennet road has been laid to binder course.

The following footpaths are closed to allow the next sections of road and footpaths to be prepared for the next surfacing visit: The north footpath between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury Lane Roundabout and the south footpath between the pedestrian crossing at Optima Park to Mayplace Avenue.

The next phase of surfacing is programmed to start week commencing 5th February 2007. The following sections of road are due to be surfaced during this visit – Howbury Lane Roundabout to Kennet road south carriageway and Perry Street Roundabout to Howbury Lane north carriageway (final surface layer only), Kennet Road to Mayplace Avenue south, Crayford Way Phase 2B and BP House to the Private road north. The footpath between Perry Street Roundabout and Howbury lane north will be surfaced to binder course.

Howbury Lane - A traffic diversion will be in place to allow roadworks to commence this month. The traffic will be diverted up around Perry Street Roundabout to access Howbury Lane. The westbound entrance into Howbury Lane from the roundabout will be closed.

The new traffic splitter island on Perry Street Roundabout at Perry Street has been constructed but additional work in this area will be required. This additional work will require a temporary road closure to be put in place diverting local traffic down Holmesdale Grove. HGV traffic will be diverted away from the area. The redundant services bridge has been removed as well as a small section of the existing road bridge. The sheet piling and capping beam construction on both sides of the river is now finished. Works to construct the new bridge deck are ongoing. The existing footpaths over the bridge have been closed to allow these works to continue. Pedestrians are now being diverted over the new section of the bridge.

Footpath construction on the south side between Kennet road and Mayplace Avenue is continuing this month. There is no right turn out of Mayplace Avenue to allow for this construction. Pedestrians must cross the road in front of Thames House and use the north footpath only.
