Bexley Town Safe has been awarded the Safer Business Award (SBA)
by Action Against Business Crime (AABC).
The award was presented by Mike Shuck, Chief Executive of Action Against
Business Crime to Chris Evans, Chair of Bexley Town Safe. The ceremony took
place at the Marriott Hotel, Broadway, Bexleyheath on Wednesday 13 February.
The Safer Business Award is a nationally recognised accolade, awarded for
reaching accepted standards in the management and operation of business crime
reduction partnerships.
Partnerships are inspected by AABC before being accredited and are re-inspected
every three years to ensure those standards are maintained.
Cabinet member for Regeneration and Housing, Cllr
John Waters said: "I
am delighted that Bexley Town Safe Partnership is being recognised for the
good work in reducing crime in Bexleyheath Town Centre. I believe the Safer
Business Award will help us to continue to maintain these standards, and
build upon them".
Members of the Community Safety Partnership, Ward Councillors, Bexley Police,
Bexley Pub Safe and Bexley Town Safe were able to attend the event.
Town Safe Bexley was launched in 2004 and is a partnership between the London
Borough of Bexley, Police and Bexleyheath business operating in and around
the Town centre.
