Youth Opportunity & Capital Funding
Step by step application guide for young people
Are you a young person aged between 13 and 19 years old?
Want to apply for YOF/YCF funding but not sure how to make a good application?
Try following these easy steps:
Step 1: Talk to other young people around you to see what they want the money for - for example: do you need some new equipment for your project? would you like to go on a trip or residential? or do you need extra staff to be able to extend you project?
Step 2: Brainstorm your ideas including what a difference it would make to young people if you got the money, who it would benefit, what exactly would you spend all of the money on and how does it meet the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes (for info on this look at www.everychildmatters.gov.uk)
Step 3: Fill out the application form from all your ideas and call Sally Allen to let her know which date you will be coming to an interview (interviews will be booked in on a first come first served basis so you could book yourself in as soon as you receive the info if you would prefer)
Step 4: Get ready for the interview. Remember it will be a casual interview and is run by other young people. The panel are not looking to catch you out they just need to know everything about your project to help them decide whether to fund it!
Step 5: Come along to the interview on your chosen date and meet with the panel to tell them all about your project idea.
That's all of the hard work done!!
After the interview the panel have to decide what projects they are going to fund and how much they are going to give to each. This can sometimes take a while if lots of projects apply but we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Good luck with your application - YOF/YCF Panel |
