Tips for workers supporting young people

Are you working with a group of young people who would like to apply for funding?

Want to know the best way to support them?

Here's how:

All ideas and applications must come from young people and the panel will be looking out for this in the application and also during the interview- so it's important to allow the young people the freedom to develop their ideas.
Support the young people to complete the application form and gain a clearer understanding of the grants process e.g. applications and interviews. Help the young people to put their ideas in to words appropriate to the questions in the application form.
Work with the young people to practice interviews and help them grow in confidence.
Before the interview make sure all young people know where to go and what time to be there- if necessary arrange transport or accompany the young people to the venue
