On Thursday 5 May 2022, elections took place to elect the council's 45 Borough Ward Councillors.

The Returning Officer can receive nomination papers at the time and place specified on the Notice of Election.

Nominations must be submitted by hand to the Electoral Services Office, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath DA6 7AT. They can only be submitted between 10am and 4pm on each day up to the deadline.

Important dates

Already registered?

  • if you are already registered, you do not need to re-register to vote again for the Local Council elections, unless you have moved and have not already re-registered
  • your poll card will be sent out end of March 2022
  • if you do not receive a poll card, then check with the Electoral Services team on 020 8303 7777 as you will need to be registered by the deadline date in order to vote
  • the deadline to register to vote is by midnight Thursday 14 April 2022. You can register to vote on the government website
  • the deadline to receive new postal vote applications or to change/cancel an existing postal or postal proxy vote arrangement is 5pm, Tuesday 19 April 2022
  • the deadline to receive new proxy vote applications or to change existing proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) is 5pm, Tuesday 26 April 2022
  • polling day is from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 5 May 2022

The verification/count

The verification and counting of the ballot papers for the poll will take place on Thursday 5 May 2022 at Crook Log Leisure Centre, Brampton Road, DA7 4HH. The Count will start at 10pm on Thursday 5 May 2022.
