Support For Carers – Bexley Mencap
We can provide practical support for families or carers of people with a learning disability, such as form filling, advice, signposting and emotional support. Virtual wellbeing sessions during Covid are being offered.
Support For Parents/Carers - Bexley Voice
We offer support via our Bexley Voice Facebook group. This service is for Bexley Voice Parent Carer members only. To join Bexley Voice you will need to be a parent/carer of a child or young person with SEND.
We also offer support to SEND parent/carers via our website which we regularly update with information from providers.
New service – ‘Virtual Voice support’ - fortnightly Facebook live sessions with professionals and facilitated virtual 1 to 1 sessions, starting from 1 June 2020.

Information and Advice and Guidance - Citizen’s Advice Bureau
Bexley Citizens Advice Bureau is providing an extended phone service from 9.30am to 12.30pm, then 1.30pm to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, as well as providing advice by email.
The service is available for people who live, work or study in the London Borough of Bexley. Our advice helps people resolve their legal, money, debt, benefit, employment, housing, consumer, discrimination, and other issues.

Information, Advice and Guidance - Healthwatch
Healthwatch Bexley are the consumer champion for both health and social care services locally. We are here to support people who live or access services in the Borough of Bexley.
We are happy to listen to your experiences of health and social care services, offer support, advice and signpost to relevant services.
We have a survey on our website but are very happy just to chat to people about the difficulties they may be experiencing and also what may be working well. This will be shared with Healthwatch England and local service commissioners. We are particularly interested in how people are coping who do not use social media or have a computer etc.
Since the Coronavirus pandemic, many more GP and outpatient consultations are being handled through the phone or online systems, instead of face to face. Some people find this change easy and convenient, but for others it can create difficulties. It is important that no-one is disadvantaged as technology is increasingly used in this way.
We are keen at Healthwatch Bexley to hear what you found good or difficult if you have engaged with your GP or other NHS or care service via the phone or online. Please give us your feedback.

Information, Advice and Guidance – Bexley SNAP
We provide the following to existing families or those that have previously accessed SNAP:-
- new toy library service – a selection of toys that are delivered to the home for a week at a time, free of charge
- one to one or small group ‘Zoom’ sessions for children and young people to stay connected and keep in touch with the SNAP team and peers
- access to games, quizzes, fitness exercises, craft and cookery sessions via Zoom
- phased reopening of commissioned short breaks service for 11 year olds and under with complex/profound disabilities, on individual or small group basis

Trusted Traders – Evergreen Care belong to a local BNI group with 35 members including a plumber, electrician, handyman, carpet fitter etc. The group meets weekly and over time trusted relationships have been built. Evergreen trusts the members not to scam their clients. Those listed are businesses and charge accordingly. Anyone can contact Evergreen for more information.

General Support - Kent Association for the Blind
Eye Clinic Liaison Officers (ECLOs) are on hand to give you the essential emotional and practical support you need at this crucial time.
Our ECLOs will spend time with you to talk through your concerns, explain more about your eye condition, give you information about help available to you or just listen. Having help at this early stage can prevent other problems like falls or a deterioration in your wellbeing and provide you with coping strategies to help you manage your condition. This may include information about the registration process, local support services, treatments and benefits and concessions.
