A mobile bus will be out in the Borough at various locations throughout the winter handing out home testing kits for those with no symptoms and information on the vaccine. There are also staff on board who are able to carry out no symptom rapid tests.

About the home test kits

Each test kit includes two packs of rapid lateral flow self-test kits. Each of these two packs contains seven tests, for every member of your family or household. They include a set of instructions which are simple to follow.

Ensure you have also submitted your COVID-19 home test result to the GOV.UK site.

Testing is open to all ages. Please be aware this is a self-swabbing site for those aged 12 or over, therefore, you will complete the throat and nose swabbing yourself (if aged 12 to 15 with parental supervision) at the testing centre. If aged under 12 a parent or guardian must complete the throat and nose swab for their child. There are test assistants present to advise if needed.

A written consent form is required to be completed by a parent or guardian of all children aged under 16 when attending the site. People aged 16 or 17 will be required to complete a written consent form themselves when attending the site. Children aged under 16 will not be admitted to the testing site without a parent or guardian present.

  • the tests are quick to take and the results will be text or emailed within around 1 hour
  • you can book an appointment for a test below
  • when the site is less busy you may be able to get a ‘walk-in’ test
  • walk-in tests at the Civic Office are subject to availability and if the site is busy, you may be asked to come back at a less busy time or to book online

If you are tested positive, you and everyone in your household must self-isolate immediately for the next 10 day full days.

The 10 days begin the day after your test date. If you or anyone in your household gets symptoms after the test, you must self-isolate from the day symptoms started and for the next 10 full days. If you have a child or are a member of staff at a school or nursery, tell the school/nursery.
