Ageing Well Magazine out now!

Ageing Well Magazine

The Council is today (3 October) launching a special magazine to coincide with its popular Ageing Well in Bexley event later this month.

It aims to capture all the information, advice and support for older residents available on the day of the event - and more.

An interactive version of the magazine and a downloadable PDF is available - Ageing Well Magazine 2018 (PDF, 3.2MB).

Residents can also enjoy a free hard copy of the magazine, which is available to pick up at all Bexley libraries, as well as on the day at the Ageing Well event.

Cllr Brad Smith, Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, said: “Our event and this magazine bring together information under the key headings of our Ageing Well strategy - including tacking loneliness, enjoying life at home and keeping active and healthy - so that you can find out more about out what’s on offer locally.

“You’ll find a wealth of useful information from a range of local organisations, voluntary and community groups, many of which will also be at our Ageing Well in Bexley event in person.

“I hope that residents will find this magazine useful and I look forward to meeting some of you at the ‘Ageing Well’ event.”

Bexley’s second Ageing Well event is taking place on Saturday 20 October from 11am to 4pm at the Civic Offices in Bexleyheath. Over 30 partner organisations will be on hand to showcase the work they do and how they can support older people to keep happy, healthy and active, as well as getting involved in their local community.

Local residents can attend the event free of charge and there is no booking required. Entertainment, tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided and free parking is available.

Residents can share details of the event on Facebook.
