Bexley goes electric
13 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points have gone live across Bexley in an initiative led by the Council, and more are on the way.
Each of the chargers can accommodate two cars and they are located close to amenities in parking bays that were previously underused.
Cllr Peter Craske, Bexley’s Cabinet Member for Places said: “We’re investing in electric vehicle charging points because we know that access to these is key to making residents feel confident about switching to cleaner, greener electric vehicles. Making the switch will help to reduce harmful emissions and improve the quality of our air.”
The charging points are operated by BP Chargemaster and can be accessed in two ways. Residents can purchase a Polar Plus membership subscription which costs £7.85 a month plus approximately 0.12p per kilowatt (KWh) used. Or they can download the pay-as-you-go app, Polar Instant.
