Bexley is proud to support fostering
Teams from Bexley will be out across the borough looking for people that could become foster carers and make a real difference to a child or young person’s life during National Fostering Fortnight, which runs from 14-27 May. The fortnight will culminate in a free family fun day at Danson Youth Centre.
The national campaign line is ‘Proud to support fostering’ and the focus of the week is on how foster care can transform lives.
Foster carers can be single, married, gay or straight. They can own or rent their home. They may have a young family, an empty nest or have no children. They need a spare room, dedication, and the skills it takes to care for and support a child who cannot live with their own family , whether short or long-term.
London Borough of Bexley provides a comprehensive training package and help throughout the application process. Once you become a foster carer, training continues and a network of local carers are always on hand to provide peer support.
If you are looking at a new career, or to change your foster care provider, and would like to join the team of Bexley foster carers find out more or call 020 3045 4400 for a chat, or follow the team on Twitter.
