Draft Special Educational Needs and/or Disability Strategy 2019-2023

The Council is working together with Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group, other partners, parents and carers on a Draft Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND) Strategy 2019-2023 (PDF, 1.7MB)

The overarching aim of the strategy is to improve the educational, health and emotional wellbeing outcomes for all young people aged 0-25 years who have SEND.

Our vision

“All children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities aged 0 to 25 years living in Bexley have good social relationships, stay healthy and are supported to become as successful and independent as possible and are supported to realise their aspirations and live fulfilling lives.”

The draft Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND) Strategy sets out our priorities over the next four years. These are:

  1. Workforce Development
  2. Joint Commissioning
  3. Early Identification of Needs and Early Intervention
  4. Preparing for Adulthood
  5. Co-production with Young People, Parents & Carers
