Proposed addition to the Local List: CH Boundary Marker, Bexleyheath
The CH Boundary Marker which is located to the rear of 5 Canberra Road, Bexleyheath, DA7 5SD has been nominated as an addition to the Local List, which currently comprises approximately 400 entries.
The CH boundary marker is located to the rear of 5 Canberra Road and appears to be of 19th Century origin. The boundary marker is inscribed with the letters CH (likely denoting Christ’s Hospital), dated 1860 and appears to be in good condition. The structure is cast iron, rectangular in shape and exhibits a pyramidal top. The boundary marker potentially may have been indicative of a ward boundary historically (around the date of the inscription).
The Council is seeking your opinion on whether the CH boundary marker should be added to the Local List. The Council is also seeking any information you may hold about the structure and its history. Historical records including photographs are particularly welcome.
