Could you be a Bexley Superhero?

National Foster Care Fortnight runs from 9 to 22 May.

This year the theme is #FosteringCommunities. In Bexley we want to find the superheroes in our community who would make amazing foster carers for local children and young people who need their help.

During the week the Foster Care Placement team will be out and about across the borough handing out information and talking to people about what it means to be a foster carer in Bexley.

Foster carers in Bexley receive constant full support, excellent pay and ongoing training from our Ofsted rated ‘outstanding’ team.

Some of the places the team will be during the fortnight include -

Bexleyheath Town Centre - 13 May - 10am to 2pm

Danson Park Foster Carer Family Picnic - open to anyone interested in becoming a foster carer - 15 May - 12 midday to 3pm

Fostering Coffee Morning at the Marriot, Bexleyheath - 18 May - 10am to 12 midday

Fostering Information Session - 19 May - 6pm to 7pm

Bexleyheath Town Centre - 20 May - 10am to 2pm

Leader of the Council, Cllr Teresa O'Neill OBE said:

Foster Carer Fortnight is a chance to highlight the need we have to recruit more ‘superhero’ foster carers to join our dedicated team. Foster carers help our children and young people in care to thrive often in the face of great difficulty. They provide a safe home environment when it is needed most.

“If you are looking for a career where you can make a real difference to a child’s life, then pick up the phone or pop along to one of our events, meet the team and some of our existing carers to find out more.”
