Stopping Up Of Highway

London Borough Of Bexley Town And Country Planning Act 1990 Section 247(2a) - Erith High Street, Erith

The Council of the London Borough of Bexley hereby gives notice that it has made an order under section 247(2A) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (“the Act”), as amended, the effect of which will be to authorise the stopping up of part of the highway at Erith High Street, Erith in the London Borough of Bexley as set out in the schedule in order to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted under the Act.

A copy of the order and the order map may be inspected free of charge at the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7AT on Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours. 

Any person aggrieved by the order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the order may within 6 weeks of 14 April 2021 make an application to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the order or any provision contained therein.

The Bexley (Bexleyheath Town Centre) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 13) Traffic Order 2021

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of have on 12 April 2021 made the above-mentioned Traffic Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985 and all other enabling powers.

2.The general effect of the Bexley (Bexleyheath Town Centre) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 13) Traffic Order 2021 would be to amend the Bexley (Bexleyheath Town Centre) (Parking Places) Traffic Order 2018 to:

(a) remove the Resident Permit Parking Bay in front of No. 34 Lion Road, Bexleyheath.

(b) the parking bay which currently operates between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday will be replaced with a single yellow line restriction of ‘8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Saturday’.

3.Copies of the Order which becomes operational on 19th April 2021, the corresponding Parent Order (and any Orders that have amended that Order), the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order, and maps which indicates the length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7AT.

4.Further information may be obtained by telephoning Michael Wenbourne on 020 3045 3943.

5.Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that they are not made within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may make application for the purpose to the High Court before the expiration of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made.

Temporary Restriction of Vehicular Traffic Order 2021

(Lion Road, Bexleyheath) - Notice Of Intention

1.The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that, to enable Cappagh Contractors on behalf of Thames Water to repair a defective sewer and to repair the carriageway, they intend to make an Order the effects of which will be the introduction of:

  • A road closure to vehicular traffic outside 100 to 104 Lion Road.

2.The Order will come into effect on 26 April 2021 and is valid for a period of 18 months.  However, the works are expected to be completed within 13 days.

3.Whilst the works are in progress, an alternative diversion route will be provided via:

  • Lion Road, Upton Road, Townley Road, Albion Road, Broadway, Lion Road and reverse 
  • Lion Road, Upton Road, Broadway, Lion Road and reverse 

4.Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.

5.The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
