Notice of Intention to Sell Green Belt Land (Updated)
Land and Buildings at Crayford Manor House, Mayplace Road East, Bexleyheath DA1 4HB

Notice is hereby given that The Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Bexley are proposing to apply to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities for consent to dispose, by way of a long leasehold and/or freehold sale, the following property by virtue of the provisions of the Green Belt (London and Home Counties) Act 1938:

Land and buildings known as Crayford Manor House, Mayplace Road East, Bexleyheath DA1 4HB

The intended purpose of the disposal is to secure the long-term future and refurbishment of the locally-listed Manor House as well as the Coach House for residential use together with some enabling residential development within the land edged in red on the site plan. Any development will be subject to planning approval following due consultation and will have regard to the site’s Metropolitan Open Land status and all other relevant planning designations.

Details of the property, including a site plan indicating its boundaries, have been deposited for public inspection at:

Temporary Restriction of Vehicular Traffic Order 2022

Roman Way, Crayford - Notice of Making an Order

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Hereby Give Notice that an order has been made, to enable JB Riney on behalf of the London Borough of Bexley to undertake highway improvement works, the effects of which will be the introduction of:
    • Prohibition of traffic on Roman Way from the junction with Stadium Way to the junction with Crayford Road
    • Waiting restriction on Roman Way from the junction with Stadium Way to the junction with Crayford Road
    • Loading prohibition on Roman Way from the junction with Stadium Way to the junction with Crayford Road
  2. The Order will come into effect on 31 August 2022 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 2 nights from 7pm to 2am.
    Whilst the works are in progress, Princes Road, Shepherds Lane, Old Bexley Lane, A2, Black Prince roundabout, Bourne Road, London Road.
  3. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
  4. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Gas Mains Replacement Scheme in Various Roads in Erith - Notice of Intention

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Hereby Give Notice that, to enable to enable Gas Mains Replacement Scheme in various roads in Erith, by JDT Utilities on behalf of Southern Gas Networks, they intend to make an Order the effects of which will be the introduction of:
    • Waiting restriction and Loading prohibition in roads detailed in Schedule One of this Order. These restrictions will be for the full length of the carriageway on both sides for the roads detailed in Schedule One of this Order.
    • Restrictions will be removed when not required.
  2. The Order will come into effect on 5 September 2022 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 52 weeks.
  3. Whilst the works are in progress, no alternative route will be required.
  4. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
  5. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  2. The Order will come into effect on 5 September 2022 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 8 nights from 7pm to 2am each night.
  3. Whilst the works are in progress, an alternative route will be provided via:
    • Manor Road, James Watt Way, Queens Road, South Road, Northend Road (Southbound), Bridge Road.

    • Waiting restriction and Loading prohibition in roads detailed in Schedule One of this Order. These restrictions will be for the full length of the carriageway on both sides for the roads detailed in Schedule One of this Order.
    • Restrictions will be removed when not required.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 23 Pedestrian Crossings and Highways Act 1980 - Section 90A Raised Features

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Bexley proposes to install a new zebra crossing to Erith High Street approximately 40.0 metres southeast of the junction with Saltford Close. The crossing will include a raised crossing point to enhance road safety.

A second full width raised feature is proposed on Erith High Street immediately northwest of the junction with Saltford Close to create an informal crossing point.

The purpose of the formal and informal crossing points would be to assist accessibility to the riverside and public open space areas.

A plan showing the location of all the above proposed crossing can be viewed during normal office hours, Monday to Friday inclusive at the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT.

This notice is published in conjunction with a second notice detailing proposed changes to waiting restrictions, shared resident permit/paid for parking places and disabled persons parking places.

Any person wishing to object to these proposals should send a statement in writing of their objections and the grounds thereof to the London Borough of Bexley, Engineering Services, Traffic & Road Safety Services, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT or by email to traffic@bexley.gov.uk (including a full postal address) within 21 days of the date of this notice.

Persons objecting to the proposals should be aware that this Council would be legally obliged to make any comment received in response to this Notice, open to public inspection.

  1. Notice is Hereby Given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley propose to make the above-mentioned Traffic Order under sections 6,45, 46, 49, 51 and 124 of and Part IV of schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985 and all other enabling powers.
  2. The general effect of the Bexley (Waiting and Loading) (Amendment No. XX) Traffic Order 2022 would be to:
    a) amend waiting no waiting at any time restrictions on Erith High Street between its junction with West Street and its junction with Bexley Road.
  3. The general effect of the Bexley (Erith Town Centre) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. XX) Traffic Order 2022 would be to:
    a) amend the position and number of existing shared resident and paid for parking places on Erith High Street between its junction with West Street and its junction with Bexley Road.
  4. The general effect of the Bexley (Disabled Persons Parking Places) (Amendment No. XX) Traffic Order 2022 would be to:
    a) amend the position of existing disabled persons parking places on Erith High Street between its junction with West Street and its junction with Bexley Road.
    Note: The above Traffic Management Orders are proposed to manage parking demands and traffic movement adjacent to revised public realm arrangements at this riverside area. This notice is published in conjunction with a notice proposing a new raised crossing and second raised feature as part of the overall scheme
  5. Copies of the proposed Orders, the corresponding Parent Orders (and any Orders that have amended those Orders), the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, and a plan which indicates the length of road to which the Orders relate, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT.
