Preparing for adulthood
Bexley is holding an information event for young people aged 14–24 with special educational needs and disabilities, to support them and their parents/carers as they prepare for adulthood.
The free event will take place on Friday 17 May from 2pm to 6pm at Hall Place & Gardens in Bourne Road, Bexley.
Young people and their parents/carers will get the opportunity to speak with schools, further education providers, careers advice organisations, supported employment teams and other employment-related organisations. There will also be the chance to access information on the move from education to employment.
Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr John Fuller said: “This is the first time we have hosted an event like this for our young people. We will have key partners and local groups available to offer advice and information on next steps into adulthood. I would encourage anyone with an interest to come along and see what we have in place locally.”
