Contaminated land

The London Borough of Bexley provides advice and investigates complaints about contaminated land.

There is a difference between 'contaminated land' and 'waste on land'.

Contaminated land is defined as land where substances are causing or could cause:

  • significant harm to people, property or protected species
  • significant pollution of surface waters (for example lakes and rivers) or groundwater
  • harm to people as a result of radioactivity

If you have an enquiry regarding contaminated land in Bexley complete the contaminated land form or email the Environmental Protection team at eh.duty@bexley.gov.uk.
