Centrepieces will commence their contribution to Night Visions with an exhibition at The Stables Gallery at Hall Place.

This will launch on 10 October, World Mental Health Day, and run until 4 November. The works on display, created by Centrepieces artists and the general public reference light as a theme, linked to the exploration of mental health.

Taking inspiration from the exhibition, workshops are in the planning stage to give the public the chance to make light themed art, including a Collaborative Panel of Small Canvases where both Centrepieces artists and the public can contribute visually their thoughts and feelings about light (ref artist Robin Luciano Beaty), the creation of Glass Pebble Jars emanating light and an outdoor evening session where participants create light patterns through glow sticks or similar light emitting instruments which are then photographed and exhibited.

They will also be utilising the concept of light and dark in relation to thoughts, feelings and mental health, which people will be able to write down and put into boxes which will either be designated for opening up for sharing with others, or, if preferred, to be destroyed.

Centrepieces will be developing more opportunities throughout Night Visions – watch this space for more information.
