Throughout the day, the course will cover:

1. Ground Preparation – how to clear sites and select for suitable growth.
2. The Art of Pleaching – how to slice stems precisely to preserve them in their natural, live, supple and bendable state.
3. Traditional Tool Mastery – how to safely handle billhooks, pruning saws and axes.
4. Staking & Hazel Binding – how to secure upright stakes and weave hazel binders.

This is a one-day course which runs from 8am until 4pm.

All equipment will be provided (billhooks, axes, pruning saws, safety gauntlets and eye protection).

• Please wear suitable clothing (layers and waterproofs) and sturdy work boots or wellies.
• Protective steel toe-caps are strongly advised.
• Please also bring a packed lunch.

The course is £90 per person.
