In 2025, #CelebratingBexley showcased the borough’s immense potential as a premiere creative and cultural destination.

Originally launched to mark a series of historic milestones - including the 60th anniversary of the Borough, the centenary of Danson Park and 500 years since the dissolution of Lesnes Abbey - this festival quickly became a powerful catalyst for local pride.

As Bexley’s green and blue spaces transformed into vibrant stages for music, drama, art and dance, the festival brought about a new spirit of energy and collaboration too significant to let go of.

With the borough’s artistic community more vibrant than ever, the London Borough of Bexley and its partners are committed to building upon this legacy by ensuring this momentum continues. This commitment is at the heart of the Council’s newly launched Cultural Strategy, which provides a roadmap for nurturing local talent and Bexley’s heritage for years to come.

#CelebratingBexley will continue as an ongoing programme, shining a light on the people and places that make our borough special.

Follow along as new performances, workshops, festivals, celebrations and more are added to this growing calendar.
