A211 Sidcup High Street - Essential Maintenance

Essential works to replace part of the worn-out carriageway in Sidcup High Street between Church Road and Station Road are being carried out by the Council from 27 October and will last two weeks.

To enable the work to be carried out safely Sidcup High Street and its side roads and entrances will be closed for through traffic for periods of time. Access for residents, businesses and deliveries will be maintained.

The programme of works is as follows:

  • Monday 27 October from 8pm until Sunday 2 November at 5pm: Full closure from Church Road to Station Road junctions in both directions including Hatherley Road and Hadlow Road.
  • Sun 2 November from 5pm until Tuesday 4 November at 7pm: Directional closure (traffic will be able to flow in the High Street from Church Road to Station Road junctions but not in the other direction.)
  • Tuesday 4 November from 7pm until Thursday 6 November at 2am: Full closure from Church Road to Station Road junctions, in both directions including Hatherley Road and Hadlow Road.
  • Surfacing work will be taking place at night between 7pm and 2am on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 November, between Nesbitt Walk and Hadlow Road.
  • Thursday 6 November 2am to Thursday 6 November at 7pm:  Directional closure (traffic will be able to flow in the High Street from Church Road to Station Road junctions but not in the other direction.).
  • Thursday 6 November 7pm to Friday 7 November at 2am: Road open. This is to accommodate separate gas road works in Station Road.
  • Friday 7 November 2am to Friday 7 November at 5pm: Directional closure (traffic will be able to flow in the High Street from Church Road to Station Road junctions but not in the other direction.

Diversion routes will be signed for through traffic affected by the closures.

Bus services will be affected by the closures. Buses will be put on diversion and unavoidable delays will occur during the above works. Please see signage at bus stops or contact TFL Buses direct.

The works are being carried out by the Council’s term highways maintenance contractor, J B Riney.
