The Alice & the Queen’s Beasts light trail at Hall Place & Gardens has been hailed as a glowing success, attracting over 4,000 visitors throughout its four-day run (13 to 16 November).
The iconic building and gardens were transformed into an illuminated Wonderland, complete with giant lantern sculptures, costumed characters, and interactive storytelling.
Attendees were welcomed by the Queen of Hearts, spotted the grinning Cheshire Cat and enjoyed the sight of the Hatter’s tea party. Community involvement also played a key role in the event’s success, with local children creating handmade teacup lanterns, Cheshire cat lanterns and time clocks, displayed along the route.
Many event goers have praised the magical atmosphere and family-friendly experience, describing the trail as “amazing” and “well worth a visit”.
Produced by outdoor arts company Same Sky and supported by funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, the event formed a centrepiece of the borough’s new ‘Night Visions’ arts and culture programme.
But the fun is not over, there are plenty more fantastic events in the borough coming up in Bexley’s Night Vision programme.
