Families and park users are invited to have their say on three more children’s play areas starting today, as the Council launches its second consultation of its major playground upgrade project.
The Council is now at the start of the refurbishment programme.
The survey launched today (Thursday 24 September) marks the second wave of public consultation in the Council’s £2.5 million playground investment programme. The programme is designed to create safer, more inclusive and enjoyable play spaces that encourage children and families to get outdoors and connect with nature.
Residents are being asked to share their views before final designs are locked in for three more local sites:
- Parish Wood (Berwick Crescent, Sidcup, DA15 8HR)
- Russell Park (Long Lane, Bexleyheath, DA7 5AU)
- West Heath Recreation Ground (Heath Avenue, Bexleyheath, DA7 5RT)
The online survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and ensures local voices directly influence the next stages of the upgrade project. Residents can access the survey and share their feedback by visiting Ask Bexley.
The consultation follows the success of the first survey for The Dell (Crayford Way, Crayford, DA1 4ES). The Dell, also set to benefit through the £2.5m package, is currently preparing to go to tender, with work expected to start in late autumn 2026.
The £2.5 million investment forms a key part of the council’s agreed 2026/27 budget. The comprehensive financial plan commits more than £587 million to day-to-day services this year, alongside a £252 million four-year capital programme, including £145 million allocated for 2026/27, ensuring long-term improvements to community infrastructure across Bexley.
