Easter egg collection generously supported by Bexley residents

The team with donations at Crook Log

Bexley Fostering team extends a big thank‑you to Crook Log Leisure Centre and the local community for generously supporting this year’s Easter Egg Collection.

The collection will bring so much joy to children and young people who are looked after by Bexley, helping them feel supported and celebrated over the Easter period. The kindness shown by everyone involved, staff, families, gym members, and local residents has made a meaningful difference.

Charmaine Wells, Crook Log Leisure Centre Manager said:

We are absolutely blown away by the response. In total, we were donated around 100 Easter eggs from our members and the public. Seeing the community come together to support such a vital cause is heartening. We know these small gestures mean the world to the children, and we are proud to play our part."

The donated Easter eggs will be shared with children at our Easter event next week, proudly hosted by Fostering Together. The core carers from Fostering Together work alongside fostering families to host regular events, including our Easter trip to the cinema, creating a nurturing, connected community where children feel secure and valued.

Fostering Together is designed around flexibility and real‑life needs, making it ideal for people who want to make a difference while balancing work, family, and other commitments.

This means that at Bexley, children benefit from greater stability, fewer moves, consistent relationships, and a warm, extended‑family atmosphere. At the same time, foster carers receive reliable support, practical guidance from people who truly understand fostering, and increased confidence and wellbeing from being part of a trusted community.

Bexley continues to seek more foster carers who can offer children a safe and loving home. Foster carers receive full training, ongoing professional support, and financial allowances, but most importantly, they gain the opportunity to change a child’s life for the better.

If you’ve considered fostering or would like to learn more, please visit Foster for Bexley or call 0203 045 4400 for more information. Even a conversation could be the start of something life‑changing.

Crook Log, Erith, and Sidcup Leisure Centres offer a wide range of facilities including swimming pools, gyms, and fitness classes, aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of the Bexley community.
