Last night (19 August), a large oil leak from a commercial vehicle affected several roads.

Council teams managed to save Bronze Age Way, Queens Road and Northend Road, but parts of Thames Road were badly impacted and will potentially need resurfacing. 

The road is currently closed, but one lane will be accessible shortly, once the traffic management is in place. 

Specialist cleaning equipment is being mobilised to the site to assist with the clean-up. However, if the road needs resurfacing, this will need to be done within the next few days.
