The London Borough of Bexley is proud to support Foster Care Fortnight, a national campaign led by The Fostering Network that runs from 12 to 25 May.
Throughout the fortnight, Bexley Fostering will host a range of events, including information sessions and Q&A opportunities for those interested in learning more about fostering. Full event details are available on the Bexley events page.
This year’s theme, “The Power of Relationships”, highlights the small but powerful everyday moments that make fostering so impactful.
Councillor Chris Taylor, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said:
Foster Care Fortnight is a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on the incredible role foster carers play in our community.
This year’s theme, ‘The Power of Relationships,’ reminds us that it's the everyday moments – the care, the consistency, the connection – that can make a lifelong difference in a child’s life.
I would encourage anyone who’s ever considered fostering to come along, speak with our team and find out how they can be part of something truly life-changing.”
exley’s Fostering Team will also be out and about in the community at local information stands, where you can meet staff and foster carers, ask questions, and pick up helpful resources —all in a relaxed and informal setting. Anyone can also join in the online information sessions.
Community locations and times:
- Thursday 15 May – Morrisons, Welling from 10.30am to 4pm
- Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 May – Morrisons, Erith from 10.30am to 4pm
- Thursday 22 to Friday 23 May – Bexleyheath Broadway Shopping Centre from 10.30am to 4pm
Whether you're curious about what fostering involves or ready to take the next step, our team is here to help.
