Viewers across the UK were treated to a glimpse of one of Bexley’s most beautiful landmarks on Saturday night, as BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing featured Hall Place and Gardens in a special segment filmed in the stunning London Butterfly Garden.

The segment, which aired on Saturday 4 October, showcased the elegance and charm of Hall Place gardens — one of the borough’s most popular heritage attractions. London Butterfly Garden provided a magical backdrop, perfectly complementing the sparkle and energy that Strictly is known for.

Cabinet Member for Place Shaping, Councillor Cafer Munur, said:

It was wonderful to see Hall Place Gardens featured on such a well-loved national programme. It’s a real gem in Bexley and we’re thrilled that viewers across the country were able to see what makes it so special.”

Hall Place and Gardens, located in Bexley, is a Grade I listed Tudor house surrounded by award-winning gardens and is one of the borough’s most visited attractions. The site hosts a wide range of community events, exhibitions and family activities throughout the year.

The appearance on Strictly Come Dancing has shone a national spotlight on the beauty of the borough and the Council hopes it will encourage more people to visit and discover the history and charm of Bexley’s hidden treasures.

Hall Place and Gardens also has an exciting upcoming event — Alice and the Queen’s Beasts, part of the spectacular #NightVisions illuminated trail. This magical experience will transform the gardens into a wonderland of light, colour and creativity, bringing the story of Alice in Wonderland to life in a dazzling after-dark adventure.
