Residents were left delighted following the successful Here Comes the Sun spring festival at the end of last month (25 April and 27 April).

The event, organised by The Exchange with Bexley Brewery, saw attendees flock to the former to take part in the celebrations focusing on all things crafted.

Councillor Cafer Munur, Cabinet Member for Place Shaping, said:

I'm delighted The Exchange were able to host the Here Comes the Sun festival, giving local people a chance to come together and enjoy crafting workshops, as well as good food and drink. The festival was featured in our #CelebratingBexley programme, and we have many more excellent events to look forward to in the coming months.”

The event was free and allowed attendees to enjoy free craft workshops for all ages, as well as food from Power Crust Pizza and Big Daddy’s Kitchen.

It also featured live music and drinks from the world famous Bexley Brewery.

Sarah Batten, founding co-director of the Exchange, said:

Our Here Comes the Sun festival gets better and better each year. This event is a celebration of things that are crafted - gardens, textiles, ceramics, prints and of course beer made by our incredible collaborators Bexley Brewery. It is so wonderful to see how our vibrant creative community can come together and create such joy over a weekend."

#CelebratingBexley shines a light on the people and places that make Bexley special.
