Is your family ready to take on the Bexley Recycling Challenge? If your child is 5 and over, why not help them to learn more about the importance of caring for the green places in our borough that you love while having fun and getting some exercise during the Easter holidays?
The Bexley children’s recycling challenge runs from Saturday 5 April until Monday 21 April. All you need to do to take part is to visit:
- Central Library in Bexleyheath - DA6 7HJ
- or Crayford Library - DA1 4FN
- or The Nest in Thamesmead - SE2 9FA
and ask for a children’s recycling challenge pack.
Litter lasts a lifetime and remains in our environment for decades, making its way from land into our waterways and oceans - plastic bottles can last around 450 years.
Activities in the recycling challenge include a quiz with interesting facts and a litter pick (all equipment including gloves, litter pick and high-vis vests will be provided for adults and children).
Each child who completes the recycling challenge will get a Bexley Eco certificate and one prize (a pencil or spaghetti measure).
The recycling challenge for children follows on from Bexley’s Great British Spring Clean community litter picks activity where residents came together and took pride in some of the Borough’s most popular green spaces.
The Great British Spring Clean is a national campaign run by Keep Britain Tidy throughout the UK that encourages local people to love where they live. You can read more about this by visiting the Keep Britain Tidy website.
