The Learning Disability Partnership Board in Bexley is pleased to announce the return of its Mock Election, helping adults with a learning disability understand how to take part in the democratic process ahead of the May local elections.
Following the success of the 2024 Mock Election, this second event will give people the chance to learn how elections work, why voting matters, and how they can make their voice heard about how the borough is run.
The Mock Election will take place on Wednesday 18 February, from 10am to 12:30 pm (with the last vote at 12pm) in the Civic Offices, Bexleyheath
On the day, attendees will:
- Learn about the election and voting process
- Find out why voting is important
- Learn about the new photo ID requirements
- Be supported to register to vote
- Have the opportunity to get their photo ID on the day, helping ensure they are ready to vote in the May local elections
This event is open to adults with a learning disability living in Bexley, as well as carers and supporters who would like to help someone take part. The aim is to make voting more accessible and ensure everyone has the confidence and information they need to participate.
