Offers for primary school places have been made today, Thursday 16 April.
This year, 99.7% of Bexley parents applied online and will receive an email after 5pm with details of their child’s offer and further guidance. Letters have been posted today to parents/carers who did not apply online.
All online applicants will receive an email advising them to log in to their e-admissions account, where they can view their child’s offer and find guidance on what to do next.
There were 2,640 applications from Bexley residents this year, 96 less than were received last year. This figure is in line with falling demand for school places across London.
Of these applications, 91.5% are being offered their first preference (92.4% last year), 5.3% their second preference (6% last year), 1.05% their third preference (0.6% last year), with 98.3% receiving one of their 3 preferences (99% last year) and 98.45% will receive one of their 6 preferences (99.3% last year). This is higher than the 88.4% of pupils who got into their first preference school and 97% who were offered a place at one of their top three preferences and individually only 5 other London Boroughs achieved a higher first rate preference.
Following National Offer Day, there will be 635 places available for any late applications and any ‘in year’ applications. The Council continues to work with our schools to plan ahead to ensure that our availability of school places reflects the collaborative pupil place planning work being undertaken.
