Councillor Richard Diment, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said:
I am delighted with the effort made by Bexley’s schools to ensure our environment is protected for future generations. These awards give young people the chance to engage with green spaces and understand how important the environment is. Congratulations to all the schools who won awards and took part.”
They were presented with a trophy and certificate by the former Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Sue Gower MBE, and took part in a willow weaving and fire pit workshop led by Creative Nature HQ.
The ceremony was followed by a walk through the ancient woodland to the fossil pit, where students found shark teeth dated 55 million years old.
