Step into a world of light and wonder at Hall Place and Gardens

Night Visions

Families are invited to step through the looking glass this November and discover a world of light, colour and imagination at Hall Place and Gardens.

From 13 to 16 November, the historic gardens will be transformed into a magical illuminated trail — Alice and the Queen’s Beasts — inspired by the enchanting story of Alice in Wonderland. Children can follow Alice’s footsteps and meet glowing creatures, giant flowers and whimsical characters brought to life through spectacular light installations.

This is Bexley’s first ever seasonal family light trail, created in partnership with national arts organisation Same Sky and promises an unforgettable evening for visitors of all ages.

Councillor Cafer Munur, Cabinet Member for Place Shaping, said:

This is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy something truly special together. The trail brings a little extra magic to Bexley this winter — it’s creative, fun and full of wonder.

“I’d encourage everyone to wrap up warm and come along to experience the magic for yourself.”

Robert Batson, General Manager at Same Sky, said:

We’re known for our long-term, large-scale projects like Glow Wild at Wakehurst or our work for the Jubilee, but in recent years we’ve focused more on grassroots collaborations in Kent and the surrounding London boroughs.

Hall Place has given us a fantastic opportunity to bring some of our most imaginative ideas to life. The grounds and history have provided a wealth of inspiration and the local groups we’ve worked with have been amazing in helping us realise these visions. This is already one of our favourite installations in recent years and will be a real highlight of our calendar.”

After completing your journey through the illuminated trail, visitors can enjoy hot food and drinks at the Riverside Café, which will be open after your experience, or browse the Farmers Market, which will be in its usual spot at the end of the trail — the perfect way to round off your magical evening.

Alice and the Queen’s Beasts is part of Night Visions, a borough-wide celebration of light and creativity made possible through £100,000 of investment from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants.

Don’t miss this glowing adventure — tickets are on sale now.
