This holiday season, elite performing arts institution Bird College will be bringing the magic of the West End to Bexley in a new Winter Show entitled ‘Night Visions’ - tickets are available now for showtimes on 5, 6 and 7 December at the Doreen Bird Foundation Theatre.
‘Night Visions’ will be a dazzling showcase of musical theatre and seasonal favourites brought to life by Bird College’s exceptional students. The performances will celebrate the creativity, passion and discipline of emerging artists through a vibrant mix of song and dance. Night Visions promises to be an unforgettable evening where imagination takes centre stage and guests can watch the stars of tomorrow burnish their shine today.
The performances will take place at The Doreen Bird Foundation Theatre in Sidcup from Friday 5 December to Sunday 7 December.
Night Visions will also serve as the official debut of ‘Birdsong’, a new college choir that brings together Bird’s strongest voices. Birdsong will host additional performances throughout the end of the year, including a concert at The Exchange, Erith on 13 December, which promises an atmospheric and illuminated evening set to a seasonal backdrop of candles and lanterns.
Councillor Cafer Munur, Cabinet Member for Place Shaping, said:
“Bird College is a long-established institution in Bexley that develops elite level new performers that keep energising the west-end theatre scene. Now, through Night Visions, local people can come and experience for themselves the energy and passion of the stars of tomorrow as they perform here in Bexley. These winter shows promise to be a festive highlight.”
Christopher Costigan Principal and CEO of Bird College, said:
“We are thrilled to deepen our relationship with the local Bexley community and expand the box office offerings for our neighbours this year. Bird College is proud to be a lead cultural partner to the London Borough of Bexley and excited to continually impress our audiences with the incredible talent of our student performers.”
Both the winter shows and Birdsong choir are part of Night Visions, a festival of light-art themed events that have been made possible by £100,000 of investment from Arts Council England in London Borough of Bexley and its partners in Bexley Culture Network.
It forms part of #CelebratingBexley, a year-long programme of arts, culture and entertainment marking key local anniversaries, including 60 years of the London Borough of Bexley, 500 years since the closure of Lesnes Abbey and 160 years of Crossness Engines.
