16 Days Campaign
What is the 16 Days Campaign?
Each year, from the 25 November to 10 December, communities around the world unite for the 16 Days Campaign Against Gender-Based Abuse - a powerful global movement that calls for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls (VAWG). These dates link two key human rights observances - the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November) and Human Rights Day (10 December).
By running a local 16 Days campaign, The London Borough of Bexley hopes to raise awareness, foster a community dialogue, and demonstrate our commitment to addressing gender-based abuse.
White Ribbon Day
White Ribbon Day falls on the first day of the 16 Days campaign, 25 November. The White Ribbon Campaign encourages everyone to wear a white ribbon and pledge to never commit, excuse or remain silent about male violence against women. Please sign up the White Ribbon pledge, which can be found on the White Ribbon website, and get your ribbon to show your commitment.
