Working together towards the life you want
Every adult with care and support needs should have the opportunity to live a healthy, fulfilling and independent life. Our Adult Social Care Vision puts residents at the heart of our services, providing personalised support that gives people choice and control over how their needs are met.
We want people in Bexley to remain healthy, active and independent for as long as possible, while ensuring they are safe, supported and able to live the lives they want. By making the best use of available resources, we will continue to deliver high-quality, sustainable services that put people first. Adult Social Care teams work with residents, carers and families as partners, in shaping and improving our services.
By building on people's strengths, skills and community connections, we help people with the outcomes that matter most to them. Our Vision is supported by clear ‘we will’ commitments that set out what residents can expect from Adult Social Care and the goals we are working towards. As the needs of our communities evolve, our Vision will continue to guide how we work, improve and deliver services for local people.
Councillor Ward- Wilson, Cabinet Member for Adults & Health
Every day, remarkable efforts are underway within our Adult Social Care Services. However, it remains crucial for us to establish a forward-looking vision and strategy, recognising the changes in society.
Our priority is to consistently place those in need of support at the forefront of our initiatives which will enable people to live the life they want to live.
This requires a shift in our operational and commissioning methods. Our Vision sets out how we plan on prioritising outcomes by listening to individuals' aspirations, understanding their lifestyle preferences and working towards engaging with communities in a new way.
By listening and communicating with our residents we will have a greater understanding of what we are doing well and how we need to improve and develop.
