Parents not offered a place at their first preference school will automatically be included on the waiting list for higher preference Bexley schools than the one offered.

A child’s name cannot be included on the waiting list for a grammar school unless he or she has achieved a high enough score in Bexley’s selection tests to be deemed selective, unless a school has this in their Admission Arrangements. For example, Beths Grammar School

The London Borough of Bexley will hold all school waiting lists until the end of the Summer term 2027. Waiting lists are kept in the same order as the over-subscription criteria for the school.

If a vacancy arises in a school before the start of the term in September 2027, the home Local Authority will send an offer letter. If that parent does not accept the offer, it will be offered to the child next on the waiting list. This procedure will be followed until the vacancy is accepted.
