Introduction to the SEND and PfA Strategic Action Plan
This strategic action plan supersedes the Local Area SEND Priority Action Plan that was created following the outcome of the December 2023 Ofsted/CQC SEND Inspection.
It builds on the previous priority action plan and has been refreshed to include recommendations from our positive interim SEND inspection in February 2026, and wider areas needed to be considered in preparation for our full SEND Inspection due in 2027.
The plan is the 'delivery arm' of the Bexley Special Educational Needs and Disability & Preparing for Adulthood Strategy 2024 to 2028. This is a joint strategy bringing together the support provided by health, social care and education, and all the partners across the Local Area who collectively support our children and young people with SEND.
It remains an iterative and live plan which will also consider Bexley's response to the recent SEND Reforms once our Local SEND Reform Plan has been signed off by the DfE/NHSE in the autumn
