Local Councillors are calling for those with an interest in Slade Green to join a new Neighbourhood Board to help decide how £20m of Pride in Place funding will be used over a 10-year period.

The Pride in Place programme, which has been funded by the Government, requires the creation of a Slade Green Neighbourhood Board. The Board should consist of community leaders and organisers; local businesses and social enterprises; cultural, arts, heritage and sporting organisations; as well as public agencies and anchor institutions, all operating in the area.

You don’t need to be an expert - we’re looking for people who care about Slade Green and want to help shape its future.

The Board will also include Council Leader Cllr David Leaf, Slade Green and Northend Ward Councillors Stefano Borella and Donna Briant, and Bexleyheath and Crayford MP Daniel Francis. The Councillors and MP are working cross-party to support the delivery of Pride in Place in Slade Green, and said:

The Pride in Place programme gives us all an opportunity to invest in the local community in Slade Green and tackle deprivation and inequalities in this part of the Borough. We are calling on local residents, community groups and businesses to come forward and help us shape the future of Slade Green. We want to work together with the local community to make sure these funds make a lasting and positive difference."

If you have a passion for Slade Green and want to represent your local community apply to join the Neighbourhood Board at

Applications close on 31 July.

Working with the local community and the Council, the Slade Green Neighbourhood Board will co-create a Pride in Place Plan setting out how up to £20 million is best spent over the course of a decade.

The initiative aims to improve social infrastructure, restore local pride, and give residents the power to shape their high streets and community spaces.
