What does the JSA tell us?

We are proud that Bexley is consistently in the top 6 safest London Boroughs. The majority of offence types have seen a further decrease in 2024. Continued partnership working, prevention activity and early intervention will help maintain this positive position and keep our communities safe.

There was a slight increase in criminal damage; sexual offences; theft; and drug offences. Domestic abuse significantly contributes to this. We need to commit to addressing this upward trend with appropriate response and early intervention.

There was a reduction in performance compared with the previous period. Continued monitoring and targeted interventions will be required to address the downward trend and improve outcomes.

Additional support should be provided to those most at risk to ensure early intervention, improve outcomes and reduce future demand on services.
