How to report serious violence?

If you or someone you know is affected or a victim of serious violence, help is available, and there are several ways it can be reported.

Report it

  • in an emergency, if you or someone is in immediate danger, call 999
  • if you are in danger and unable to talk on the phone, call 999, then press 55. This will transfer your call to the relevant police force who will assist you without having to speak
  • for non-emergency police support, call 101
  • online reporting at Met police
  • for anonymous reporting, contact Fearless or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at Crime Stoppers
  • young people can access support through local youth services, schools or trusted community organisations or trusted adul
  • if you are worried about a child or vulnerable adult, please contact our safeguarding team by calling 020 3045 5440 or making a referral
