The Bexley Crisis Café is a safe and friendly place to come to if you are experiencing severe emotional or psychological distress.

Counselling Matters Bexley are a group of counsellors who are committed to making counselling available to as many people as possible in the London Borough of Bexley and surrounding areas. 

You can phone the Counselling Matters helpline which is staffed by counsellors on 0800 047 26000 (open 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week).

Mind in Bexley can offer free support to those struggling with low mood, frustration, depression, anxiety, sleeping difficulties that have an impact on your daily life e.g. work, relationships, family life or caring role. You can do a self-referral on the Mind Bexley website or call 0208 303 8932 (option 1)

If you are 18+, a Bexley resident and struggling with mild-moderate anxiety or depression Mind in Bexley’s Talking Therapies service is here to support you.

Head in the Game

Head in the Game offer free weekly sessions designed to help people improve their mental fitness while enjoying sports they love. These sessions cater to individuals aged 18+, regardless of skill level, and are guided by experienced sports and talking therapy coaches. Head in the Game currently run 12-week badminton, tennis and football programmes that provide structured mental health-focused sports training. Age UK Bexley

Age UK Bexley offers free 12-week ‘Stronger Together’ postural stability exercise classes following functional fitness testing for adults 55+. The programme supports older adults in maintaining their health and fitness which is crucial for preventing frailty and falls, which can significantly impact quality of life. The programme also includes a range of social activities designed to reduce loneliness and isolation among participants. In addition, the programme helps individuals access further resources by signposting them to relevant services and support networks tailored to their needs.

The current classes are full, but the charity hopes to be able to offer more sessions later in the year.  

Our parks

The Step Outside programme, delivered by Our Parks in partnership with the London Borough of Bexley and the Bexley Wellbeing Partnership, is revitalising local green spaces by transforming them into dynamic hubs for health, social connection, and community wellbeing.

Offering free, outdoor group exercise classes led by qualified instructors, the initiative promotes accessible, inclusive, and convenient fitness opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities. By encouraging engagement with nature, fostering social interaction, and supporting both physical and mental health, Step Outside demonstrates the vital role that public parks play in nurturing thriving, resilient communities.
