This document is the culmination of the Council’s Strategic Parking Review. It sets out an overarching strategic aim for parking, supported by objectives and detailed policies with an action plan for the next three years. It seeks to tackle parking matters of most importance to residents and businesses based on a comprehensive investigation of parking issues in the borough, incorporating public consultation and the latest parking research and best practice.
As a result, the document does not seek to cover all aspects of parking in detail or to report on specific operational matters or performance. A full picture of how the Council manages its parking assets, its income streams, enforcement performance etc. is provided in the Council’s Annual Parking Services Performance Report and other sources.
This strategy will set the direction of the future development of parking in the borough ensuring a consistent and well-founded approach which meets the needs of local residents and businesses.
