13. Children and families’ feedback
In addition to the above questions, the parent surveys also collect feedback from parents. This is complimented by feedback surveys that the providers hold with the parents that attend their provision, and the children themselves. Extracts from the various surveys that have taken place during the 2025 HAF Programmes follow.
Feedback from Children
The children who attended the Bexley HAF clubs were happy to be there, engaging in the activities and making friends. When speaking to different children the feedback was positive. Many children are keen on returning back to the same clubs as they are happy there. Clubs that provided home cooked meals on-site proved to be very popular amongst the children.
[The best bits were] "Talking with friends and the trips"
"The best bits about the club is there are lots of toys and you can have as much fun ever!"
"I loved the adventures I got to experience."
[The best bits were] "The food and the tutorials for cornrows"
[The best bits were] "The food and the hair braiding and the playing games and the trips."
Parent and Family Feedback
Feedback from families continues to highlight the vital role the HAF programme plays in supporting children and their parents/carers during the school holidays. Many describe it as life-changing, particularly in helping children access enriching activities that would otherwise be unaffordable.
"made it so that I could continue to work during the holidays and XX very much looked forward to it, always asks me to go every holiday"
"It's a extremely massive help during holidays. I wish the council could provide more credits but I really appreciate what is offered to me. Thank you very much"
"My son is sen so on half terms and summer holidays it’s hard to constantly keep him regulated. With HAF it gives him something to do and something to look forward to until he can go back to school"
"Really helped with structure and routine. My kids got to enjoy activities they usually would not get a chance to do."
"Brilliant programme helping us as parents get a short break & allowing us to continue working or getting things done. Children are happy going to the club and helps them learn/adapt being around more people. HAF programme has been incredibly positive & must stay."
"Amazing, it really helps us and my son to have independence and alleviate pressures at home"
