Bexley’s first International Women’s Day Awards

To celebrate International Women’s Day (8 March) this year, Bexley will be recognising the work done to progress gender equality and inclusion in Bexley.

The Council is calling on residents to tell us about women and businesses who have made exceptional contributions towards gender equality and empowerment which is in line with this year’s theme #InspireInclusion.

The nominees will be officially recognised for their nomination and the winners will be awarded on the 8 March by the Mayor.

Nominations for the awards are now officially open. Nominees can be anyone who lives, works, or studies in Bexley, aged 16 plus.

Councillor Sue Gower MBE - Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing said:

These awards underscore our commitment to celebrating the remarkable contributions of women and businesses in Bexley. By recognising their achievements, we hope to inspire future generations and foster a culture of inclusivity and equality.”

Nominations will close on Wednesday 28 February and the winning woman and organisation will receive their recognition on 8 March 2024.
