Night-time road closures on A206 Thames Road/Perry Street Roundabout - UPDATE

Sections of the A206 Thames Road and Perry Street roundabout and side roads will be closed at night to through traffic for short phases whilst essential resurfacing work takes place in December.

The works to replace the worn-out carriageway will begin on Monday 4 December and last approximately three weeks. All work will take place between 7pm and approximately 2am. The traffic management for the closures will be set up and removed each night so that the road network will operate as normal, when surfacing works are not taking place. Diversion routes will be signed for through traffic affected by the closures. Vehicle lifting equipment may be used if required.

Bus services will be affected by the road closures. Buses will be diverted and there will be unavoidable delays during the works. Please see the signage at bus stops or visit the TFL Bus status website direct.

Every effort will be made to keep general disturbance and site noise to a minimum. Dates may change if poor weather conditions or other difficulties are encountered.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the works. If you require any further information or have any special needs that need to be taken into consideration, please email Engineering services at EngineeringServices@bexley.gov.uk.

After listening to the concerns of local residents, the phasing of the works has been changed. They will now start with the resurfacing of Thames Road and then move on to the resurfacing of Perry St roundabout. The Perry St roundabout works have been rephased to allow access to Wyatt Road at all times.

Planned schedule of resurfacing works programme

  • Monday 4 December to Friday 8 December - section of Thames Road Erith bound between Kennet Road and Perry St Roundabouts including the south side of Howbury Lane roundabout
  • Monday 11 to Monday 18 December -  Thames Road/Perry Street roundabout
  • Tuesday 19 to Friday 21 December – possible lane closures for anti-skid works
